How to get up

Coming from the south

From N'Kob, head north and follow signs for Tazazert. The road climbs the southern flank of the Saghro — parts are unpaved, so take it slow.

Coming from the north

From Boulmane Dadès or Tinghir, drop south through Iknioun and cross the Saghro plateau up to the pass.

Before you set off

  • ·Fill up your tank in N'Kob, Boulmane Dadès or Tinghir — there's no fuel anywhere on the pass.
  • ·It gets cold up here at night, even in summer. Pack a warm layer.
  • ·Phone signal comes and goes. Download an offline map before you leave town.
  • ·In winter, check road conditions — there can be snow up at the top.
